Founded in 2017 by Ajay Kumar, LOTUS has been a trailblazer in the industry, creating solutions that prioritize both practitioner well-being and patient care. We are proud to be the first company to introduce the Splatter-Free Prophy Angle in 2019, an innovation that has transformed dental hygiene by significantly reducing splatter exposure – a common safety concern for hygienists.
Our founder, Ajay Kumar, brings deep engineering and business management knowledge to LOTUS. With a B.Tech. from NIT India, an ME from Southern Illinois University, an MS from Rutgers University, and an MBA from the University of Southern California, Irvine, Ajay’s extensive educational background provides a robust foundation for his innovative approach to medical device design and manufacturing. His previous work experience at renowned dental and medical companies such as Nobel BioCare, Zimmer, Dentsply, Pro-Dex, and Paragon Medical, combined with an impressive portfolio of 37 patents, drives the development of groundbreaking products like the Splatter-Free Prophy Angle, solidifying LOTUS’s position as a leader in dental innovation.
Our dedication to hygienist safety is evident even in the naming of our product SKUs. LSFAS-XXX stands for LOTUS Splatter Free Angle Soft, while LSFAF-XXX represents LOTUS Splatter Free Angle Firm. The “XXX” in the SKUs denotes the quantity in a box. These carefully chosen names and colors reflect our unwavering commitment to developing products that prioritize the well-being and preferences of dental professionals.
